Title: Floors

Author: Patrick Carman

Synopsis:

Charlie had his chocolate factory. Stanley Yelnats had his holes. Leo has the wacky, amazing Whippet Hotel.

The Whippet Hotel is a strange place full of strange and mysterious people. Each floor has its own quirks and secrets. Leo should know most of them – he is the maintenance man’s son, after all. But a whole lot more mystery gets thrown his way when a series of cryptic boxes are left for him . . . boxes that lead him to hidden floors, strange puzzles, and unexpected alliances. Leo had better be quick on his feet, because the fate of the building he loves is at stake . . . and so is Leo’s own future!

My Review:

I was introduced to Patrick Carman from the 39 Clues series. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Carman about a year ago at my local Barnes & Noble. I was excited to hear about his new book, Floors. When I started reading it I loved it so much that my eyes were glued to the pages of the book. I finished it in 2 days.

I really liked this book. It has fantasy and involves magic and something of a scavenger hunt. My favorite part and place was when they were in the train room with a miniature version of Central Park. My favorite character is Jane Yancey because she always wants sweets and she is very funny especially when she calls Leo “Maintenance Man!”

I hope that this is going to be a series and there is going to be another book because the story of Leo and Remi is not over. We haven’t heard about what Leo will do to the hotel. I recommend to the author in his (hopefully) next book in the series to have Mrs. Sparks trying to steal the hotel off of Leo’s hands. That would be cooool!

I recommend this book to people who like adventure and mystery. It is a good book for readers young and old to step into the story of Leo Fillmore and friends. It will make you imagine you are in another place; a place with a lot of magical floors.

Thanks Mr. Carman for a great book!
