Title: The Lightning Thief

Author: Rick Riordan

Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school…again. And that’s the least of his troubles. Lately, mythological monsters and the gods of Mount Olympus seem to be walking straight out of the pages of Percy’s Greek mythology textbook and into his life. And worse, he’s angered a few of them. Zeus’s master lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect.

Now Percy and his friends have just ten days to find and return Zeus’s stolen property and bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus. But to succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the true thief: he must come to terms with the father who abandoned him; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of betrayal by a friend; and unravel a treachery more powerful than the gods themselves.

My Review:

The Lightning Thief is about how a teenager named Percy finds out that he is a son of a god. He goes to a special camp where they teach children of gods how to use their powers. He goes on a quest to retrieve Zeus’s Thunderbolt and give it back to its owner, Zeus.

I wanted to read this book because it had Greek Mythology in it and I just simply LOVE Greek Mythology. It even inspired me to write my own Greek Mythology book. I liked the book because it had a lot of Greek myths cramped into one book. I like Grover because he attacks people by throwing tin cans and keeps saying that he wants to take a break and eat enchiladas.

There are 4 more books in the series; 5 in all. This is a great book.

I met the author of this book at a book signing! He is my favorite author. Here is a picture of us!

I’ve read every book he’s ever published. I look forward to reading his future books.

You should read this book now! Good job Rick Riordan!
